Report Designer
The starting point for the new Report Designer was to get it more compliant with CR3 Projects and Web3 Projects. By creating a master-detail application where the actual designer is opened in a separate tab gives a better overview of the available reports for the user.
Due to the fact that we are showing the report design in the first detail tab also makes it easier for the developer to find the report that he/she is looking for. In addition we have added a new tab that lists the time consumed when opening a report. This will give you some hints on how long it takes to open it, and what persons that actually uses the reports.
New Features
In the new version we have added a couple of new features that might come in handy.
- The initial filter field that has been added gives the developer opportunity to set a startup filter.
- Disable activity logging on individual report by ticking the checkbox in the master section.
- The times viewed, listed in the master section of CR3 Reports, give a hint on the usage of the report.
- Better support for report versioning.
- Overview of the related records from the activity log.
Browsing Reports/Minor changes
In CR3 Reports you will, in the first tab, be faced with the design of the report. On the right side of the design panel, the property grid is added. Here you typically make minor changes like changing labels, setting width/height ++. In order to save the changes there is a save button in the toolbar. For more advanced editing of the report, you should open the Report Designer.
Report Designer
The actual designer is the same as the previous version and we haven’t done any major changes to it. Some new buttons have been added in the toolbar like save with comment and setting status of the report (development/test/production). When opening the designer you will also be prompted whether you would like to create a new version. Overall, it looks and behaves the same.
